Abstract

1476974 Automatic elevator control WESTINGHOUSE ELECTRIC CORP 9 Sept 1974 [13 Sept 1973] 39283/74 Heading G3N In an elevator system, car calls being serialized at a regular {500Hz} data rate in control 38, hall calls being similarly serialized in control 46, and allocated in processor 11 to one of a plurality of cars, via an interface 15, the regular rate serialized up and down hall, and car, call data 1Z, 2Z, 3Z is re-serialized in converter 100, to provide corresponding high speed data rate {320KHz} signals HS1Z, HS2Z, HS3Z used by floor selector 34 in controlling car movements, the high speed data rate ensuring that calls are not by-passed for unfavourable combinations of floor spacing and car speed. For each floor, there corresponds a count, defined by signals S0S-S6S for the regular scan and by corresponding signals HSSOS-HSS6S for the high speed scan. For each count state of the regular scan at least one; and preferably more than one, {e.g. 5} ; complete scan takes place at the high speed rate, and, at equality of the high speed and regular count states, and due to flip-flop 138, for that part of the duration of the regular count state for which data is present, NAND 140 enables the updating of the data recirculating at the high speed rate in registers 110, 112, 114. Flip-flops 116, 118, 120 are clocked at an advanced phase relative to the registers, to ensure that the new data enters the correct count slot. Some count states may be used to indicate car express zones, or remain unused. The regular data rate is the highest rate possible without noise in the car travelling cable introducing errors.
