Abstract

1476952 Calculators HEWLETT-PACKARD CO 30 April 1974 [29 May 1973] 46147/76 Divided out of 1476951 Heading G4A The description forms part of that of Specification 1,476,951 from which this application is divided but the claims are directed to a calculator for performing conversions, e.g. angles specified in decimal degrees form to angles specified in degrees, minutes and seconds, kilograms to pounds, centimetres to inches, litres to gallons, rectangular co-ordinates to polar co-ordinates and vice versa. The conversions using built in conversion constants are effected by sub-routines stored in the read-only memories of the calculator. For example to find the tangent of 6 radians, prefix key 110 (Fig. 1) is operated followed by the mode key RAD. The value 6 is then entered followed by the function key TAN and the result is displayed. Specifications 1,476,953 and 1,476,954 are referred to. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specification 1,403,708.
