Abstract

1476934 Service boxes SIMPLEX POWER CENTRE Ltd 10 June 1974 [21 June 1973] 29438/73 Heading H2E [Also in Division E2] A floor service box comprises a frame 32 for mounting beneath a floor surface, a lid 16, and a hinge mechanism connecting the lid to one side of the frame for pivotal movement about an axis, the hinge mechanism providing for displacement of the axis inwardly of the frame away from the side during pivotal movement of the lid from a closed to an open position. The hinge mechanism comprises a hinge assembly disposed adjacent the ends of one edge of the lid, each hinge assembly having a pin 42 mounted a plate 41 attached to the lid and engaging a slot 31 in a member 23 attached to the frame, the member 23 having a pin 30 which engages an arcuate slot 43 in the plate 41. The frame 32 and divider plates 39 are adjustably mounted relative to a base 15 by screws 33 and 28 respectively and the members 22, 23 are adjustably mounted relative to the frame 32 by screws 27. The sides 12 and 14 of the box have apertures 17, 18 respectively through which electric conductors pass to the interior of the box.
