1476730 Protection of wood from fungal attack RECKITT & COLMAN PRODUCTS Ltd 19 Aug 1974 [24 Aug 1973] 40169/73 Heading A5E A method of protecting wood from deterioration by fungal attack comprises treating wood with an effective amount of at least one 2-guanidino alkane of the formula I: wherein n is 7-11 and R is a methyl or ethyl group, or an acid addition salt thereof. It is preferred to treat the wood with a solution containing 2-guanidino n-dodecane acetate, phosphate or naphthalate in water, isopropanol and white spirit respectively.
