Abstract

1476342 Tetracycline-methyleneaminosalicyclic acid complex I MARCUS 12 June 1974 26128/74 Heading C2C A tetracycline and a methyleneaminosalicylic acid or a salt thereof are reacted in a solvent comprising 1,2-dimethoxyethane and/or methyl ethyl ketone to form a complex. Sodium p-methyleneamino salicylate is formed by reaction of sodium p-amino-salicylic acid and formaldehyde. The complex may be used as a pharmaceutical composition when admixed with a carrier or diluent.
