Abstract

1475988 Containers for tape cassettes EMI Ltd 10 June 1974 [13 April 1973] 1789/73 Heading B8P An open-sided box has a closure means 3 for the open side including a closure wall 6 having an arm 7 projecting therefrom, which arm has article engaging means (e.g. fingers 8 and 9) whereby the arm having an article attached thereto may be inserted into the box with the closure wall closing the open side thereof; means being provided whereby the closure means is retained in the closing position. The box may be constructed to receive a magnetic tape cassette, the fingers 8 and 9 being designed to pass through and engage the centres of the spools of the cassette, thereby preventing rotating of the spools. The friction means for holding the box closed may consist of slots 15 in the box and engaging pins 16 on the closure wall; or of a spring positioned within the box. The open-sided box may be of moulded plastics material, and may comprise two such boxes as a single piece moulding. Insertion of strips into slots 18 permits stacking of the boxes. Prior to use such strips may be detachably connected to the arm 7 of the closure means.
