Abstract

1475686 Transporter equipment for electroplating and cleaning W CANNING Ltd 8 July 1974 [11 May 1973] 22470/73 Headings C7B and C7E [Also in Division B8] In equipment comprising a plurality of side-byside treatment tanks A, B, C ....., e.g. containing solutions for chemical treatment, cleaning, (electro) plating or water for washing workpieces 6, 7, a transporter 2 movable along the line of tanks e.g. on rails 1 is provided with two or more lifts 4, 5 whereby the transporter can lift a workpiece out of a tank with one lift and deposit a second workpiece in the same tank using the other or another lift. Preferably the spacing between adjacent lifts corresponds to that between adjacent tanks. Two or more transporters may be provided, at least one of which has two or more lifts. The lifts may be chain lifts operable independently and/or controlled by a programmed controller. Workpieces 6, 7 may be replaced by a jig or plating barrel or basket carrying a plurality of articles, the supports 8 including electrical connections e.g. for electro-plating.
