Rotary interrupters. -Rotary interrupters have a toothed metal wheel a with the spaces a<1> between the teeth filled up with insulalation and spring contact blades c pressing upon the periphery and connected in the circuit to be continuously interrupted. According to the invention, a number of magnets or electro-magnets d are disposed in the neighbourhood of the revolving contact-maker, creating a magnetic field adjustable in strength and direction so that the contactmaker generates a small adjustable current which may be used to neutralize extraneous current disturbances in the circuit to be interrupted. The interrupter may be of the mercury-jet type.
