1473255 Toe pulling over and lasting machines INTERNATIONAL SHOE MACHINE CORP 5 Sept 1975 [12 Sept 1974] 36715/75 Heading A3B A toe pulling over and lasting machine utilises 6 pincers assemblies 94, 96 located on a pincers base 92. Assembly 94 is a toe pincers assembly, the assemblies adjacent thereto are corner pincers assemblies, those remote from the toe pincers are ball pincers assemblies whilst the remaining ones are prepart pincers assemblies. Each assembly has a motor 98 which normally holds jaws 112, 114 in a raised position. A further motor 102 is slidable in motor 98 and controlls a cam 134 that can pivot jaw 114 into a gripping position. An insole rest 60 is pivoted to the top of mount 58 which is in turn mounted to the top of a toe post 20. The toe post is movable vertically by motor 16. Within the post 20 a further motor 62 controlls movement of a cement applicator 68. In operation a shoe assembly is presented bottom-down to the machine on insole rest 60. The assembly consists of an insole a last and an upper draped over the last. The pincers are operated to grip the margin of the upper with, a relatively heavy gripping force. When post 20 is moved upward the gripping pressure of all the pincers bar the-ball pincers is relieved so that slipping can take place between the pincers and the margin. The ball pincers may be moved downward and motor 86 may be activated to pivot lever 80 and force rest 60 upwardly. When post 20 reaches its upper position, determined by pin 46 engaging actuator 56, the other pincers reassert a heavy gripping force on the margin.
