Abstract

1473211 Textile lubricants IMPERIAL CHEMICAL INDUSTRIES Ltd 10 Feb 1975 [21 Feb 1974] 7874/74 Heading C5F [Also in Division C3] Synthetic fibres are lubricated and rendered antistatic with organosilicon ammonium phosphates containing at least one group where R<SP>1</SP> is an organic divalent group, preferably having at least 3 C atoms between N and Si, R<SP>11</SP> and R<SP>111</SP> are each H, hydrocarbyl or 2- hydroxyhydrocarbyl, and Q<SP>1</SP> and Q<SP>11</SP> are each hydrocarbyl or a group R<SP>IV</SP>(OC n H 2n ) z - wherein R<SP>IV</SP> may be H or hydrocarbyl, each n is-2, 3 or 4, and z is an integer, or Q<SP>11</SP> may be H. The compounds may be silanes or siloxanes and may be obtained from the corresponding organosilicon amine and the acid phosphate. In Examples 1-4 the polyether alcohols wherein b is 2 and a about 10, or b is 0 and a is 2 or 3 are allowed to react with P 2 O 5 in 2 : 1 (Example 1) or 4 : 1 ratio and then with or (EtO) 3 Si(CH 2 ) 3 NH 2 (Example 3). In Example 5 a polyester thread is coated with a 1% solution in isopropanol of the siloxanes of Examples 1 and 2 and dried to give lubricated thread.
