Abstract

1471680 Coolers for rotary kilns BUHLERMIAG GmbH 25 July 1974 32995/74 Heading F4B A rotary kiln 1 has an annular cooler at its discharge end comprising adjacent tubes 5 of substantially rectangular cross-section, the kiln wall having apertures 12 for leading material into the tubes 5 and each tube having an inlet shoot 13, a helical guide 14 and a discharge box 15 with an outlet spout 16. As shown, the interior of the kiln wall is provided with a ridged line 10 and paddles 11 for lifting and scattering material within the kiln. The kiln may have a girth ring radially outside the cooler. Fig. 2 (not shown), or axially beyond the cooler, Fig. 1 (not shown). The cooler tubes can be removed separately from the kiln and be interchanged or replaced without having to stop the kiln for any appreciable time or to remove other tubes.
