Abstract

1471368 Watering land UNIFLEX SpA 19 July 1974 32113/74 Heading AID [Also in Division F2] A water distribution system is constructed by joining pipelines T e.g. flexible rubber hoses by means of T-shaped pipe couplings M secured in the ground by a spike attached to the coupling body. Two limbs of the coupling terminate in nipples to which pipelines T are connected and a third limb incorporates a quick-acting coupling and a spring loaded cut-off valve. Watering equipment e.g. sprayers may be connected to the system by pipes having at one end a nipple which is pushed into the socket of the quick acting coupling and is gripped thereby, the nipple at the same time opening the spring loaded valve allowing water to flow from pipeline T to the equipment. The equipment may be disconnected by pulling the nipple from the socket which allows the spring loaded valve to close. The system may be laid out on the surface of the soil e.g. around a garden, over ridges D Fig. 5 and connected to a main water supply by a pipe Z connected to the system at junction E. Where the pipe T crosses pathways X it is buried and protected and protected against loads indicated by arrows 97, by a rigid tube 96 Fig. 5. Alternatively the whole system may be buried and the buried couplings protected by a box 61 (Fig. 1 not shown) attached to and surrounding the coupling body, the box having a hinged access lid at ground level.
