Abstract
1471149 Colour television GRANADA TV RENTAL Ltd 22 July 1974 [31 July 1973] 36402/73 Heading H4F A chrominance demodulation chip 8 is utilized to provide an amplitude modulated signal on a carrier having twice the frequency of an input oscillation, which may be an oscillation at subcarrier frequency. The subcarrier frequency oscillation is supplied to terminals 8 and 9 of the chip 8, these terminals being intended for the application of the B-Y sub-carrier reference input and the B-Y signal input respectively; the modulating video signal is supplied, together with an adjustable bias potential from potentiometer 19, to the chip terminal 13 which is intended for the application of the R-Y signal input; a signal at twice subcarrier frequency appears on chip terminal 7, which is intended for the B-Y signal output, and is connected to a tuned circuit 16, 18 tuned to twice subcarrier frequency, the tuned circuit being further connected to chip terminal 2 which is intended for the application of the R-Y sub-carrier reference input; the modulated output signal is derived from chip terminal 4 which is intended for the R-Y signal output. In an alternative arrangement the connections to chip terminals 4 and 7 are interchanged, as are the connections to chip terminals 2 and 8 and the connections to chip terminals 9 and 13. The modulating video signal may be derived from the waveform generator described in Specification 1,417,425, the modulated output signal being fed to a colour television receiver to produce a display free from moving beat patterns.
