Abstract
146,862. Drõgerwerk H. & B. Drõger. April 10, 1916, [Convention date]. Respiration, appliances for promoting.-Relates to apparatus of the kind described in Specifications 20182/08 and 23109/13, wherein the flow of oxygen through a system of passages fitted with a reversing valve and connected to a face mask causes both forced inhalation and forced exhalation, and consists in the use of a reversing valve so constructed that in addition to positions for forced respiration it may be adjusted for the supply of oxygen for natural breathing. Fig. 1 shows the general arrangement of the apparatus, Fig. 2 the oxygen nozzle d, circulating passage i, face-mask connexion f, and four-way reversing valve e with the valve plug g in the position for forced inspiration. Fig. 5 shows a modification in which the circulating passage and reversing valve are arranged adjacent the mask m, the plug g being in the position for natural breathing.
