Abstract
1468246 Polymerizable unsaturated polyesterinitiator mixture CHEMISCHE WERKE HULS AG 26 July 1974 [28 July 1973] 33097/74 Heading C3P A quick-curing polyester moulding or coating composition comprises (1) an unsaturated polyester; (2) a vinyl monomer which is copolymerizable with (1); (3) a tertiary aromatic amine; (4) an initiator; and optionally (5) one or more auxiliaries and/or additives wherein at least 50% by wt. of the initiator consists of one or more than one organic peroxydicarbonate of the general formula in which R and R<SP>1</SP> may be identical or different and each in a linear or branched chain aliphatic or cycloaliphatic radical of three to sixteen carbon atoms, the initiator being based on the sum of components (1) to (5). The initiator is preferably isopropyl peroxydicarbonate, diacetylperoxydicarbonate, tert.butylcyclohexyl peroxydicarbonate, α-ethylhexylperoxydicarbonate or a mixture thereof. Up to 50% of the peroxydicarbonate may be replaced by a peroxide, e.g. benzoyl peroxide.
