Abstract

1467715 Conveyer apparatus for electrodepositing metals LAMINOIRS A FROID DE THIONVILLE 14 June 1974 [18 Sept 1973] 26570/74 Headings C7B Metal e.g. Ni, Cr or Cd, is electro-deposited on articles 36 by lowering them into and lifting them out of a system of different elongated baths 8a, b, c in succession, loaded on to conductive supporting members, e.g. rods 28 each connected to supporting fork 33 and two fingers 34, suspended from an endless conveyer 1 moving continuously at constant speed around a closed circuit which follows a vertically undulatory path; electro-plating is effected in one of the baths 8b to which electric current is supplied e.g. via bars 9, and the articles are unloaded close to where they are loaded. The conveyer 1 comprises an endless chain 2 circulating in static rail means, e.g. two U-shaped rails 3 facing one another. The members depend in pairs at regular intervals from the chain, preferably using a support, (14) Fig. 3 (not shown) to which is fixed an insulating spacer (16), two plates 21, two brackets 20 each fixed by spindles 26 to the rods 28, two metal shoes (19) pressed by springs (18) within holes (16a) Fig. 5 (not shown) in the spacer (16) to co-operate by friction with the inside (9a) of the bars 9.
