Abstract
1467577 Apparatus for evaporating liquid from solids SALA INNOVATION AB 10 Sept 1975 [28 April 1975] 37170/75 Heading B1B [Also in Division F4] An apparatus for evaporating liquid from a sludge to form a solid residue comprises a drum 10 which is rotatable about its longitudinal-axis, means 13 for supplying sludge to the interior wall 12 of the drum heating means, e.g. electric heaters 15, and means, e.g. a blade 14 for removing solid residue 17 from the wall 12, the drum tapering from the wider open end to the closed, narrow end 33, and being so mounted in use that the lower portion of the wall 12 slopes downwardly and the upper portion upwardly towards the open end. The drum is frusto-conical, and the angle α may lie in the range 10 to 45. The heaters 15 may be mounted on a shield 37 extending across the mouth of the drum, the shield being double-walled. Sludge is pumped at 26 from a container 24 to the drum at 13 and vapours are removed at 19, 20.
