1466788 Furnace atmospheres COMMISSARIAT A L'ENERGIE ATOMIQUE 23 July 1974 [7 Aug 1973] 32543/74 Heading F4B In a vertical continuous furnace for treating cylindrical containers or articles 2a-2g, vertical grooves 5 and 6 are formed in opposite walls 3 and 4 and are formed with ducts 7 and 8 for the supply and discharge of atmosphere gases. The height of the grooves is twice that of a group of three successive containers 2 and opposite grooves may be offset by a distance equal to the height of the container. In a modification, (Figs. 4 and 5), the grooves are disposed in the other pair of walls. Specification 1,452,584 is referred to.
