1465680 Signs D & AP PRODUCTS Ltd 30 Oct 1974 [30 Oct 1973] 50351/73 Heading G5C A sign has letters or other indicia each formed separately as a composite plastics structure comprising a moulded side wall element 1 internally flanged at 2 to receive a face element 3 which is held in position by pins 5 on a moulded rim element 4. Elements 1, 3 and 4 may be transparent or opaque, and may enclose cold cathode tubes. When the letters are fixed to a mounting panel, the entire panel may be rear-illuminated. Element 4 may take various cross-sections and may be metal-plated.
