Abstract
1465217 Vehicle cabs POCLAIN 15 Jan 1975 [15 Jan 1974] 1828/75 Heading B7B [Also in Division E1] In a machine in which, to allow for reduction in the height of the machine when desired, an operator's cab is pivotally mounted on the chassis of the machine so that the cab can be swung relatively to the chassis from an in-use position to a lower, out-of-use position, the cab is pivoted between said positions on varying the configuration of a work-performing attachment to the machine by means extending between the cab and the attachment. Preferably the machine comprises a self propelled, endless-track-mounted chassis 1 supporting a turret 2 for rotation about an upright axis 3, the attachment is a backhoe excavator unit 4a, 7a, 9a, 12a, 10a, a cab 3a is pivoted at 14 on the turret 2, and the means is a cable 18a attached to a point 16a on the cab 3a and extending from the point 16a about a guide pulley 17a on the boom 4a of the excavator unit to a point 1 la on the dipper stick 7a of the unit. The work performing attachment may have a telescopic boom instead of the boomdipper stick construction 4a, 7a shown. Releasable fastenings, e.g. fastenings 15a, permit of the securing of the cab to the chassis in either the use or the non-use position of the cab.
