Abstract
1463857 Hydroxylamine salts INVENTA AG FUR FORSCHUNG UND PATENTVERWERTUNG 7 Aug 1974 [7 Aug 1973] 34735/74 Heading C1A A hydroxylamine salt is manufactured by reacting NO and H 2 in a bubble column in the presence of a suspension of a noble-metal catalyst in an acidic liquid. The NO and H 2 are fed to the lower end of the column; the suspension is fed to the upper end at such a rate that the larger gas bubbles formed rise to the upper end of the column (to form top gas) whilst the smaller bubbles formed are entrained in the suspension and thus carried to the lower end of the column. The suspension is removed from the lower end and the bubbles removed therefrom (to form bottom gas). The top gas and optionally part of the bottom gas are returned to the lower end of the column, the remainder of the bottom gas being discharged. Part of the removed suspension is returned to the upper part of the column, the rest of the suspension (containing hydroxylamine salt) being withdrawn.
