1463736 Tool carrier attachments SCIENTIFIC & UNIVERSAL CHEMICAL CO Ltd 22 Nov 1974 50811/74 Headings B3T and B3B A tool carrying attachment for a machine tool for receiving and mounting a tool holder comprises a body member 1 adapted to be mounted on the machine tool, the body having a bore 2 therein for receiving a shaft or shank 3 of the tool holder and means including a pin 6 mounted in the body and extending into the bore 2 for effecting axial and angular location of the tool holder shaft. The tool holder shaft may be formed with an open or blind keyway 8 in which the pin engages or a shoulder may be formed on the shaft whereby the pin effects axial location of the tool shaft only. A blind keyway provides both axial and angular location and an open keyway angular location only, alternative additional axial locating means being required.
