Abstract

1463617 Coating compositions NIHON EKONOL CO Ltd 3 April 1974 [3 April 1973] 14876/74 Headings C3R and C3P [Also in Division B2] A coating composition comprises a dispersion in a dispersion medium of an oxybenzoyl polyester and a polyfluorinated addition polymer which is thermally stable to at least 300‹ F., the weight ratio of the polyester to the addition polymer being from 10 : 90 to 90 : 10. The dispersion medium may be water, benzene, toluene, xylene or methyl ethyl ketone, and the dispersion may contain a surface active agent. The polymers used in the examples are (a) the polyesters derived from p-hydroxybenzoic acid, optionally with isophthalic acid and hydroquinone and (b) polytetrafluoroethylene, polychlorotrifluoroethylene and a tetrafluoroethylene - hexafluoropropylene copolymer. The coating composition may be applied to metal substrates. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specification 1,303,483.
