Abstract

1461619 Two-part connectors SOURIAU ET CIE 22 May 1974 [23 May 1973] 22832/74 Heading H2E [Also in Division B7] An instrument 1 is mounted in a panel opening by a support 10 having forward tongues 13 and a sleeve member 16, the wall being sandwiched between the tongues and sleeve member. The instrument, which may be an aeroplane route indicating or signalling device, is of a magnetic type and includes at its rear the male part of an electrical connector 6, the female part 8 being carried by the support 10, this arrangement allows easy removal and replacement of the instrument. Support 10 comprises resilient blades 11, 12 joined at the rear by a web, each blade being integral with a respective side member 14, 15 having respective upper and lower bevel surfaces 19. The support is mounted in the opening by pressing the blades together to allow the tongues to pass into the opening and then sliding the sleeve member forwardly over the support. This causes the sleeve member and bevel surfaces to co-act forcing the tongue into full engagement with the edges of the opening. The instrument is slid into the support and secured by a bolt 25 passing through bracket 26, 27 and member 23 on the instrument and support respectively. A rearward extension 17 of the sleeve member carries at its rear face 18 a bolt 20 securable to the support to ensure solid fixture.
