Abstract

1461611 Cutting out apparatus F SCHROTER 23 Jan 1974 03217/74 Heading B4B [Also in Division B6] Apparatus for cutting and/or embossing web or sheet material, e.g. paper, cardboard or the like, comprises a tool unit which at least during the cutting operation, is moved together with the material at the same speed thereof between mating pairs of rotatable upper and lower cylinders 6 under the control of a driving cam gear 33 to 39, Fig. 4, the cutting pressure between the cylinders being removed at the end of the working stroke of the cutting unit, by moving the lower cylinders away from their respective upper cylinders. The tool unit includes deformable steel plates 4, 5, Fig. 2, between which die blades are arranged to co-operate with an anvil plate 9; intermediate plates 7, 8 are also provided. The plates 4, 5 are connected to frame members 13, 14 respectively, adapted to slide via rollers 19, Fig. 3, in guide ways 20, 21. The guide way 21 is movably mounted in guides 22 secured to a carriage 18, Figs. 2 and 3, which is raised and lowered by rotatable cams (31), Fig. 5 (not shown). The tool unit is reciprocated by means of the cam-and-linkage drive gear 33 to 39; the cams 33 being rotated by a flywheel (26). The cylinders 6 and feed rollers 42, are rotated via a chain and sprocket drive 41 and gears 45.
