1458535 Moulding sliding clasp fasteners OPTI PATENT FORSCHUNGS UND FABRIKATIONS AG 16 Nov 1973 [22 Nov 1972] 31835/76 Divided out of 1458534 Heading B5A [Also in Division E2] A series of interconnected sliding clasp fastener elements are moulded, e.g. by the method of Specification 1,458,534, with the elements extending from a spine and having coupling means at their ends in an orientation transverse to that of the plane of the elements, from which the elements are twisted, e.g. as in Specification 935,676, so that the coupling means are oriented to accept complementary coupling means of elements of another series. In the Figs. 1 and 6 embodiment, the coupling elements each comprise a pair of arms 33 extending from a spine 34, to a coupling head 32 comprising head portions 31 extending in opposite directions, the elements being twisted from their moulded orientation of Fig. 1, into the Fig. 3 orientation so that the portion 31 can engage between the arms 33 of elements of another series. Alternatively, the portions 31 may engage in blind bores. The twisting in the Figs. 1 and 3 embodiment is effected in the same direction, to produce a sawtooth configuration, but in the Fig. 7 embodiment is effected in opposite directions on alternate elements to produce a meander configuration. In the Figs. 9 and 10 modification of the Figs. 1-3 embodiment, the arms 33 are connected by a link 36 defining an opening 35 for accepting a coupling head portion 31, and the heads 32 and portions 31 bevelled to facilitate engagement with the elements of another series.
