Abstract

1458484 Multi-plex scanning system SERVO CORP OF AMERICA 6 Jan 1975 [6 March 1974] 477/75 Heading G1A Such a system comprises a plurality of units 16, 18 each having means for receiving an optical image and producing in response an electrical signal, a movable mirror 12 arranged to scan a plurality of locations and to reflect light from any object at each location to one said unit, light from different locations being reflected on to different units, means for moving the mirror to scan the locations, multi-plexing switch 24 and signal processor 26. Units 16 and 18 are described in Specification 964570. Rotating drum 12 scans objects via mirrors 32 and 34 and governs the switching of multi-plexing switch 24 via lead 25. In the embodiment of Fig. 3 (not shown) a twosided mirror, pivotally mounted, oscillates between the units. The plane of this mirror defines an acute angle with a line joining the units.
