1458470 Hydrogen production SUN VENTURES Inc 10 Oct 1974 [10 Oct 1973] 43875/74 Heading C5E Hydrogen is prepared by steam reforming a hydrocarbon selected from methane, heavy gas oil residuum oil and crude oil, in which process steam is preheated to at least 3600‹ F. prior to its introduction to the reforming reactor and which process is performed in the absence of added oxygen. The product stream from the first step may be subsequently shift converted with the addition of steam and the CO 2 removed to give the hydrogen product.
