Abstract

1457724 Active material containers for accumulator electrodes VARTA BATTERIE AG 10 Feb 1975 [11 Feb 1974 14 Sept 1974] 5571/75 Heading H1B Apparatus for inserting shaping rods 3 into a double-ply fabric 5 to produce tubular pockets for accumulator electrodes, comprises magazines for storing the rods, a rod inserting device which includes guide members 16 adapted to engage in laterally positioned loops 4 of the fabric and which guide members are provided with openings through which the rods are pushed, and a knife 17 for cutting the loops after the insertion of the rods. The rods are made of aluminium and slide singly from the magazines on to screw threaded conveyers 10. The rod inserting device, which includes a screw threaded roll 11, a pressure roll 12 and a screw-threaded guide roll (18), Fig. 9 (not shown), then pushes the rods longitudinally through the loops 4. After insertion of the rods, the loops are cut by the knives 17.
