Abstract

1457360 Electrolytic steam generators INNOVATIVE PROCESS EQUIPMENT Inc 16 Oct 1974 [25 Feb 1974] 44884/74 Heading F4A [Also in Division H5] In an electrolytic steam generator, a tank 11 encloses a steam generating chamber within which is located on electrode support 36 with a plurality of involute-shaped, mutually spaced apart electrodes 53 connected to conductive discs 44, 45 and 46 forming part of the electrode support 36 which, in turn, is connected to a source of electric power through electrical connector 25 located in a cover-plate 14 of the tank 11. A water inlet 18 is provided at the lower part of the side wall of the tank, a drainage outlet 19 is provided in the base of the tank and steam outlets 22, 23 are provided in the top cover of the tank. A plurality of non-conductive discs 40, 41 42 and 43 are sandwiched between the conductive discs 44, 45 and 46. The expansion and contraction of the electrodes 53 causes scale deposits on the electrodes to be dislodged therefrom.
