1456092 Pneumatic tyres PNEUMATIQUES CAOUTCHOUC MFR ET PLASTIQUES KLEBER-COLOMBES 9 Jan 1974 [10 Jan 1973] 01120/74 Heading B7C A pneumatic tyre comprises a radial-ply carcass, a breaker 16, and, in each bead region, a filler strip 14 and a bead wire 12 which are located between turned-up end portions of the carcass and the central portion of the carcass, the filler strips being formed of a rubber mixture having a dynamic modulus of elasticity greater than 200 kg./cm.<SP>2</SP> and a low hysteresis expressed by a dynamic loss angle of between 7 and 13 degrees (the dynamic modulus and loss angle being measured in a dynamic test under specified conditions). As illustrated, the carcass comprises two plies 10 1 and 10 2 . The breaker may comprise one or more pairs of layers of cord fabric. Sidewall strips 19 have a Shore A hardness of 60 and a modulus of elasticity of approximately 15 kg./cm.<SP>2</SP> at 100% extension. A coloured strip 20 may be provided in one of the tyre sidewalls. The plies of the carcass may be wefted or weftless and may comprise rayon, nylon, polyester or metal. The filler strips of the tyre may be formed of a mixture comprising 50 to 90 parts of carbon black, 20 to 50 parts of polyethylene or polypropylene, and 100 parts of natural or synthetic rubber. The mixture may include fibres of nylon, glass, or cotton.
