Abstract

1455335 Making reinforcement bodies GÍTEBORGS BETONGPALAR AB 25 Feb 1974 [28 Feb 1973] 8388/74 Heading B3A An apparatus for preparing a reinforcement body for a concrete pile comprises a row of spaced uprights 2, 2<SP>1</SP> interconnected by bars 3 for supporting a helically wound reinforcement wire 4, each upright 2, 2<SP>1</SP> mounting at least two vertically spaced rods 9-11 which are horizontally movable to a position within the helically wound wire 4 above the bars 3 for supporting longitudinal reinforcing rods 18. In operation, the ends of the helically wound coil 4 supported on the bars 3 are attached to the two endmost uprights 2. The support rods 9 mounted on the uprights 2, 2<SP>1</SP> are horizontally moved through bearing sleeves 6, in which they are rotatably mounted, to a position within the coil 4, Fig. 2, whereupon two rods 18 are fed over the support rods 9 by rollers 16, 17 from a store 19. After withdrawing the support rods 9, the rods 18 are tied with wire to the lower corners of the coil 4. Upper support rods 10 are then moved into the coil 4 and two more rods 18 are fed into the coil 4 over the support rods 10, after which they are tied to the upper corners of the coil 4. The reinforcement body produced is laterally displaced on to conveyers (22) (Fig. 4, not shown) and is subsequently embedded in concrete. Support rods 11 are used for preparing larger size reinforcement bodies.
