Abstract

1454775 Protective helmet GULLFIBER A.B. 21 Nov 1973 [1 Dec 1972] 53988/73 Heading A3V A protective helmet comprises a plastics shell 10 supported on a wearer's head by an interior fitting suitably comprising strips 28, 32, the strips being attached to the shell by means of at least one wire element 20 housed in a recess 16, 18 around the lower edge of the shell and the wire element being engaged by spaced projections on the shell which are weaker than the element so as to be deformable as a result of impacts on the helmet. The recess comprises a groove 16 with a mouth of reduced width through which the element 20 has to be snapped. The shell 10 has a groove 14 for draining off rain water.
