Abstract
1453679 Current measuring SIEMENS AG 2 Oct 1974 [20 Dec 1973] 42688/74 Heading G1U [Also in Division H1] The current flowing in a conductor 3, forming part of a metal-clad 1 high voltage switch, is sensed by a coil 5 embedded in a resin lining 4 to produce a signal which is amplified 8 and converted to a corresponding frequency 9, and the arrangement is characterized in that firstly power for the amplifier 8 and the converter 9 is derived from one 10 or more 16 saturating iron-cored current transformers, and secondly the current sensing coil 5 is core-less, thereby avoiding saturation difficulties and consequently increasing the range of linearity (loss of sensitivity being made up by the amplifier 8).
