Abstract
1453578 Anti-adhesive coatings DOW CORNING CORP 25 March 1975 [1 April 1974] 12368/75 Heading B2E [Also in Division C3] Metal substrates are given improved release characteristics by coating with a siloxane consisting of 0.1-50 mol % of units and 50-99.9 mol % of units wherein R is a carboxyl-containing radical linked to Si by a Si-C bond and R' is a C 1-18 hydrocarbon or halohydrocarbon radical, a is 1-3, b is 0-2, a + b is 1-3, and c is 0-3. Preferably R is a group HOOC-Q-, where Q is a C 2-10 alkylene radical optionally interrupted by -S- linkages, R' is CH 3 -, a is 1, b is 1 and c is 2. The siloxane may be applied alone or with 1-99 wt % (of the mixture) of a trimethylsilylterminated liquid polydimethylsiloxane. In Examples steel panels are coated from 1% solutions in hexane with a siloxane having Me 3 SiO 0À5 end units and 94 mol % Me 2 SiO, 1, 3.5 or 5 mol % MeViSiO, and 5, 2.5 or 1 mol % of units HOOC-CH 2 -S-CH 2 CH 2 Si(Me)O.
