1453352 Detergent compositions HOECHST AG 9 Jan 1974 [11 Jan 1973] 963/74 Heading C5D [Also in Divisions D1 and C7] An activator for inorganic per compounds in oxidizing, bleaching or washing compositions, is a peracylated polyamine of the general formula wherein R 1 -R 6 each independently represents a substituted or unsubstituted acyl radical (2- 8C), X represents 0, 1, 2 or 3 and n, m and p each independently represent 2 or 3. The preferred activators are hexa-acetyl triethylene tetramine, penta-acetyl diethylene triamine, and heptaacetyl tetraethylene pentamine. The preferred per compounds are sodium perborate tetrahydrate, hydrogen peroxide, perphosphates, persilicates, persulphates and alkali metal peroxides. The compositions may be formulated with surfactants, builders and per compound stabilizers as granular washing or disinfecting agents. They may be used for the bleaching of textile fibres, e.g. cotton, linen, polyamide, polyester and polyacrylonitrile, animal skins, human hair, fats, oils and waxes. In Example 2 a spray-dried, heavy-duty detergent composition comprises sodium dodecyl benzene sulphonate, tallow fatty acid sodium salt, tallow fatty acid ethanolamide : 10EO adduct, sodium tripolyphosphate, sodium ethylene diamine tetra-acetate, carboxymethyl cellulose, optical brightener, sodium metasilicate, magnesium silicate, sodium sulphate, sodium perborate and hexa-acetyl triethylene tetramine. In Example 3, a scouring powder having gram positive and negative anti-bacterial activity contains sodium olefinic sulphonate, nonylphenol: 10EO adduct, sodium tripolyphosphate, sodium perborate, hexa-acetyl triethylene tetramine and powdered quartz. The activators may be encapsulated in a suitable water-soluble or swellable substance.
