Abstract

1451452 Ground anchor CEMENTATION CO Ltd 30 Nov 1973 [16 Jan 1973] 2330/73 Addition to 1266152 Heading E1B [Also in Divisions D1 and D2] The anchor cable described and claimed in Specification 1266152 is improved or modified by the use of a polyester resin composition as the bonding agent that is used to secure the protective cover in position, the composition being one which sets by a reaction which does not give rise to sufficient heat to cause the formation of voids. Preferably the composition is one which sets without its temperature exceeding 40‹C, for example a polyester obtainable by a condensation reaction between ethylene glycol and maleic acid or anhydride; or phthalic acid or anhydride. The composition may contain styrene as a crosslinking agent. One or more collets may be secured to the bared end of the anchor cable before the protective cover is placed in position and the space between the protective cover and the cable filled with said resin.
