Abstract

1450657 Cabinets with mirrors W SCHNEIDER & CO 17 Jan 1974 [1 Feb 1973] 02354/74 Headings A4B and A4H A wall mountable toilet cabinet has a door 17 pivotable about a vertical axis on hinges 16, a mirror 22 which is tiltable about its horizontal lower edge in a U-shaped channel 17' forming the bottom edge of the door, and an operating member mounted on or adjacent the bottom of the cabinet for causing movement of the mirror between a vertical position overlying the door and a tilted position in which the upper edge of the mirror is forwardly displaced. In one embodiment, Figs. 1-3, the operating member comprises a lever 24 pivoted at one end 25 and connected, at 27, to one end of the core 28' of a Bowden cable, the core 28' extending through the door and being anchored at its opposite end 29 to the upper edge of the mirror. Forward pivoting of the lever 24 allows the mirror to pivot under the action of a leaf-spring 23. The door is automatically latched closed when the mirror is tilted. In a modification the lever 24 is replaced by a slide movable parallel to the cabinet back. In another embodiment, Fig. 8 (not shown) one end of the cable core 28' is secured to a hand grip 43 which is a friction fit bat displacement along the length of a lever 24 which is pivotable about a vertical axis. The cabinet may be fitted with shelves 8, light fittings 2, 38, electric sockets 39, 40, a stack of paper napkins 10 removable singly through a dispensing aperture 11 in the cabinet bottom, and a soap dispenser 12 with an operating lever 15.
