1450570 Laying pipes SHELL INTERNATIONALE RESEARCH MAATSCHAPPIJ BV 18 Oct 1973 [20 Oct 1972] 48631/73 Heading A1B [Also in Division F2] A soil, &c fluidizing apparatus for use in pipe laying (see Division F2) comprises parallel conjoined pipes 13, 15, Fig. 8, the latter having downwardly directed holes 18 fed under pressure with water or with water and air mixed via pipes 21, Fig. 6, so that the soil below is fluidized and allows the pipes to sink. Water, &c is then fed through pipes 16 to the pipes 13 and out through the horizontal holes 19, Fig. 7, in jets 20 to form a fluidized area 10.
