Abstract

1450000 Time switches DIEHL 28 June 1974 [12 July 1973] 28696/74 Heading H1N A time switch having setting and indicating means 5, 6 for the switched-on duration and 2, 3 for the switching-on (or switch-off) time of an electric cooker, is provided with a changeover mechanism (not described) for changing to and from an automatic roasting control function, upon actuation of which the indication 6 of a switched-on duration for a hot-plate is concealed and, at the same time, there becomes visible another indication (9, Fig. 2, not shown) which is calibrated in weights of meat to be roasted, the switched-on duration of the automatic roasting being variable by adjusting setting means 5 provided for the indication of meat weight, and the time switch carries further setting means 10 which is temperature-setting means to cater for different kinds of meat by changing the roasting temperature. As shown, a time-of-day indication 4, switched-on duration indication 6 stop or start time indication 3 and meat weight indication (9) are provided in digital form by cylinders bearing figures. The time-of-day indication 4 may comprise a spring mechanism giving discrete steps. The knob 5 sets the duration time on scale 6 or when pushed moves a shutter (8) to obscure scale 6 and moves the shutter 7 away to reveal meat weight scale (9) which is then settable by the same knob 5. Symbols representing different types and conditions of meat are provided adjacent the temperature scale around thermostat knob 10.
