Abstract

1449941 Screen VACU-BLAST Ltd 26 Feb 1975 [12 March 1974] 10892/74 Heading BIT [Also in Division F4] Particulate material, e.g. spent abrasive, is removed from an abrasive blast room through a floor structure comprising a plurality of side-by-side elongate upwardly open troughs 1 each communicating at the bottom thereof through a longitudinal slot 7 with a suction duct 2. As shown the troughs are arranged in pairs, each pair being formed by a channel member 3 with sloping sides and an inverted V-section member 5. A floor plate 21 in the form of a perforate sheet or open grid is placed on top of the troughs 1 to form a floor for the operator. A screen 28 having non-rectilinear orifices 27 is disposed across each pair of troughs to prevent large pieces of debris, e.g. core nails, from blocking the slots 7.
