Abstract
Products are prepared with a prespecified arrangement of functional groups present therein. In order to prepare polymers having a three-dimensional arrangement of the functional groups, optically active monomers which contain monofunctional or polyfunctional groups and are linked to polymerisable or polycondensable compounds via one, two or more functional groups are polymerised in the presence of a crosslinking agent. When the polymerisation is complete, the optically active compound is separated fully or in part from the polymers at its linking points. The resultant polymers are used for the resolution (separation) of racemates into their optically active compounds.
