1448116 Coating by spraying SIEMENS AG 1 Oct 1973 [7 Nov 1972] 45710/73 Heading C7F In the coating of a substrate 1 by a jet 3 from a spray-gun 4, decomposition products are removed from the jet by a transverse jet of gas from a nozzle 5. The products may be collected on a diaphragm 10. In a modification, Fig. 3 (not shown), the diaphragm may have a hole therein and act as a mask. The substrate may be cooled by cooling gas 9. Either the substrate or the spray-gun may be moved relatively to each other. In a modification, Fig. 4 (not shown), for a curved substrate, the nozzle 5 may be rotated.
