Abstract

1446329 Chromatography EXXON RESEARCH & ENG CO 18 Dec 1973 [21 Dec 1972 (3) 9 Aug 1973 (2)] 58522/73 Heading B1H In a process for liquid chromatographic separation of a mixed feedstream, the feed is brought into contact with a bed of zeolite, and an aromatic eluant passed therethrough, the strength of the eluant in a liquid carrier being increased while in contact with the bed. The process is particularly applicable to recovery of pure p-xylene and ethylbenzene from C8 aromatic hydrocarbon mixtures, using meta-diisopropyl-benzene as eluant in combination with a paraffinic carrier.
