Abstract

1445949 Bulk dyeing polyesters BAYER AG 5 Dec 1974 [6 Dec 1973] 52633/74 Heading C3R [Also in Division C4] Linear polyesters are dyed by using a dyestuff of the general formula in which R 1 and R 2 are hydrogen or a non-ionic substituent, m is 0, 1 or 2 and n is 1, 2, 3 or 4, provided that m+n is not greater than 4. Specified polyesters are polyethylene terephthalate, a polyester derived from terephthalic acid and 1,4-bis-(hydroxymethyl) cyclohexane and polyethylene terephthalate modified with sulpho-isophthalic acid. Many dyes are specified, e.g. 1,4,5,8 - tetra(2 - benzthiazoyl - thio)- anthraquinone, 1,4,5,8 - tetra(5,6 - dimethyl- 2 - benzthiazoyl - thio)anthraquinone and 1,5- dihydroxy - 4,8 - di(2 - benzthiazoyl - thio)- anthraquinone.
