Abstract

1445944 Electrodes for electrolytic metal refining BICC Ltd 16 July 1975 [17. July 1974] 31719/74 Heading C7B In the electrolytic refining of metal an electrode comprises a plate of metal having at least one lug extending from each side edge for supporting the electrode each lug comprising a separately formed elongate metal member fitted on a castellation formed in a side edge of the plate. As shown, the lugs are in the form of metal tubes 5 fitted on to castellations 4 formed by slots 3 in the electrode plate. A plurality of such plates may be used in the series process of refining metals such as copper.
