Abstract

1445278 Radiographic examination of welds NAUCH ISSLEDOVATEL INSTITUT INTROSKOPII 6 March 1974 10129/74 Heading H5R A weld 16 between a tube 9 and a plate 8 is examined with X-rays or gamma rays from a source 1 by providing within the tube a fluorescent screen 18 mounted in a low density holder 17. The acceptance angle of the screen is limited by dense tubular members 19. The image screen 18 can be displayed by a television system 2, 21, 22. The source 1 and television camera 2 are mounted on a common mounting assembly, Fig. 1 (not shown), which allows the source 1 to orbit around the axis of the camera and also allows for horizontal and vertical movements
