1445195 Projector and microfilm sheets therefor CANON KK 31 July 1973 [11 Aug 1972 (3)] 36438/73 Heading G2J A microfilm projector has a film support member 12 which is movable in one direction, and which carries a rotatable member which can cause the film to be moved in a second direction. As shown, the member 12 has a channel section, on the base of which the microfilm sheet F1 rests. Member 12 itself rests on the top wall 2 of the projector housing, and a pin 14 secured to the under side of wall 2 extends through a slot 15 therein, guiding the movement of member 12 in the X-X direction. A shaft 21 having knobs 20 at each end carries rubber rollers 13, and rests in slots 18 in the side walls of member 12. Springs 19 bias the shaft downwards so that the rollers are maintained firmly in engagement with the film sheet Fl. Thus by turning the knobs 20 the film sheet is moved in the Y-Y direction, so that different parts of it are brought under the cylinder 9 leading to the light source. The microfilm sheet, Fig. 4, comprises a number of images 30 arranged fiche-fashion, and a plate portion 31 carrying a similar number of index frames arranged similarly. An index mark 11 is provided on the upper surface of wall 2, and when a particular index frame, say B', is brought into registration, then the corresponding image B will be aligned with the optical axis for projection on to the viewing screen (3), Fig. 1, (not shown). Instead of three rows of index frames 31, as shown in Fig. 4, only one row may be provided, in which case two further index marks 25, 26 enable the film sheet to be located at three different positions along the Y-Y direction.
