Abstract

1445167 Filter screen changer BERLYN CORP 12 Nov 1973 [20 Nov 1972] 52441/73 Heading BID [Also in Division B5] A slidable screen holder plate 18 in a filter apparatus for heat softened plastics is sealingly engaged by a sleeve 42 urged against the plate 18 (which holds a breaker plate 24 and a screen 20) by pressure of a hollow member 48 held by bolts 62. Slide plate 18 is centred by bolts 28 and 30 in slot 16, and on release of bolts may be withdrawn to change mesh screen 20. Breaker plate 24 has countersunk holes the outer ones being inwardly inclined (Figs. 2 and 3 not shown). A second assembly of bolts 86 and hollow members 80 and 86 retains the slide plate on the downstream side.
