Abstract

1444644 Light guides H KLEIBER 30 July 1974 [30 July 1973] 33659/74 Heading G2J An apparatus for use with a radiation-sensitive temperature-measuring device comprises a plurality of optical fibre bundles and a support 11,12 for holding their input ends in a spaced relationship adapted to accommodate the part of an object 1 being measured. In all embodiments the support is ring-shaped, and may, as shown, comprise two hinged sections in hinged housings 11a, 12a. The fibre bundles may have various cross-sections, see Fig. 6, (not shown) and their ends may be arranged in a sinuous or zig-zag line, Fig. 7 (not shown) in the face of the support. The bundles may be secured to the support by a plug connection or by a bayonet joint. A plurality of supports may be arranged sequentially about the object 1, see Fig. 8 (not shown) and the supports may be liquid-cooled.
